Professor of Physics at the University of Oran since 1996, I teach electromagnetism, optics and solid-state physics. I also contributed to the establishment of two master's programs and two doctoral courses that I directed from 2012 to 2018.
From the research point of view, I am a founding member of the Laboratory of Physics of Thin Layers and Materials for Electronics where I carry out my work and of which I was the Director from 2000 to 2008. Currently, my research activities revolve around materials sciences, in particular nanostructured semiconductor materials, functional complex oxides and surface engineering. This research includes the synthesis and characterization of thin films for use in devices for microelectronics, energy conversion and optics.
At the same time, I served as Rector (University of Oran, 2006-2016 and University of Sidi Bel-Abbès, 2016-2018), President of the Regional Conference of Western Universities (2015-2017) and Director General of Higher Education and Training (2018-2020).
During this period, the priority of actions is devoted to the implementation of the reform of the higher education system, the promotion of scientific research and technological development, the implementation of the bases of good governance and the development of international cooperation.
On the other hand, the University of Oran has largely contributed to the extension of the network of higher education establishments, in particular that of the Grandes Ecoles.
